My husband and I have been married for 9 years and have moved 7 times during that time. Our first place did not have a dishwasher, but all of the others have. We rented until just over a year ago and let me tell you, those other dishwashers were quite a story in themselves. One apartment had a dishwasher that was actually older than the building. It was a pink 1960's model while the building was built in the 80s. None of them worked very well, and we did not have the option of replacing them. I tried every product I could get my hands on. I tried every home remedy I found online and that my friends recommended, and nothing seemed to get the dishes really clean. There would always be a film and sometimes grit. I mostly hand washed everything. We lived in a town whose water supply came from a limestone reservoir. Sometimes the water would actually come out of the tap cloudy. I knew there had to be something that would work.
I came across Lemi Shine by chance one day while perusing the aisles at Wally World. I thought it was worth a try, and I liked that it is made with natural ingredients and nothing scary sounding. I also loved that the company gave some proceeds to charity and that the product was concentrated. I was a little skeptical after all of my past attempts and because I had tried a vinegar and lemon juice solution before. It was apparent immediately after running the first load, that this product was far superior to anything I had tried! The dishes that I had carefully pre-rinsed came out spotless. I actually saw small chunks of hard calcium deposits in the bottom of the dishwasher that had become dislodged during the cleaning cycle. I ran the machine again with dishes that I had not rinsed and could not believe that they came out perfectly clean. There was no grit, there was no film, there was not even a trace of lime deposits. I ran all of the baby's toys through the dishwasher and even her pacifiers and bottles. I then began telling everyone I knew about this product! I gave a bottle to new tenants of the apartment building I managed when they moved in and told them where they could buy it. That was five years ago, and the only time I have had to pre-rinse dishes is at someone else's house. I then tell them about Lemi Shine and where they can get it. I give it out to new brides and college students heading off to the dorm. Most of my family and friends use it now. It can be a little hard to find in my area, so I always keep an extra bottle on hand. I can't tell you how many times I have given that little bottle out to someone that I was chatting with. My neighbor actually baked me a loaf of banana bread to thank me for this "lifesaver". She could not believe it worked as well as I told her it would. I have to admit, I was skeptical, too, but this is one product that actually lives up to its promises. I hope you keep making this stuff forever! |
